We export coffee directly


In the middle of the year 2007, the financing and commercialization service of the coffee of its associates takes off, thanks to the financial support of PCI Nicaragua through its DAP project. Since 2013, the organization has maintained a model attached to its statutes, where financing is totally linked to coffee collection and marketing activities. In other words, the former has served as an indispensable tool and not as a business, to be able to solve in a certain way, the difficult access of the small producer to financing with low interests and better conditions so that it can improve productivity and collection activities. the coffee harvest, but in the end the cooperative is nothing more than a means that facilitates access to economic resources to the producer and shortens the intermediation chain by at least two or three levels within the product value chain (local intermediary and departmental intermediary).

In 2014, the financial support of RABOBANK FOUNDATION and PROGRESO FOUNDATION has been achieved, who have been fundamental pillars in the organizational and financial recovery of the cooperative, with its unconditional support both in financing for the collection of coffee through of the triangulation modality with importers as with the support in the search of new buyers and the administrative strengthening through monetary contributions for the purchase of transport equipment, administrative improvement and participation in International Fairs. They have trusted our organization, even though our financial statements in 2014-2016 mainly presented a bad image of our economic situation, but thanks to them, we have been able to show them that we are working well and that we have been able to guarantee the cancellation of Loans granted for 5 years.

Currently, a radical change in the marketing system that the cooperative has been making since 2014 is being carried out, through the management of resources that do not force the cooperative to become a raw material supplier to local intermediaries, but that it has access to financial funds with competitive interest rates, which allow the organization to have commercial autonomy, that is, to finance the pre-harvest of its producers, to collect this financed production, to sell to national and international buyers directly, to cancel the borrowed fund and pay the associates prices that contain a greater amount of profits but also adding social benefits through premiums for use in socio-environmental activities and quality incentives, also guaranteeing the organization's self-sustainability to provide quality service all the time. .
In the 2015-2016 cycle, our efforts as an organization in addition to obtaining new buyers, exporting our certified coffee and receiving financing with low interest rates, we are aiming at the differentiation of our quality through the identification of heights above sea level and varieties of each farm by producer. In this collection and dry profit center, this coffee began to be separated by heights, humidity and imperfection, achieving with this practice, significantly improving the SCAA tasting score from 83 points to 84 SCAA, considering that despite being the first experience, it is a excellent result.

For the
2016-2017 cycle, these processes were improved by increasing the quality and slightly improving our coffee score in the future always offer a differentiated product under a brand and differentiate ourselves from the rest of coffee in the area, looking for buyers interested in this quality with the purpose of establishing long-term lasting relationships where both parties share both economic and social and environmental gains.

From
2018 to 2019, the amount of financing of RABOBANK FOUNDATION has been increased to $ 425,000.00 plus a Revolving Fund of PROGRESS FOUNDATION of $ 50,000.00 that together with $ 25,000.00 of COOMCAFE counterpart (ordinary and extraordinary contributions of the associates), have come to reduce the dependence on financing of exporters or financing entities with disadvantages for the cooperative. In the commercial part, strategic alliances have been made with PROEXPORTS S.A. with whom it has been possible to obtain an increase in coffee sales to countries of the European Union mainly.

There is still enough to do to achieve the goal of our company's vision, but with the determination to continue doing things as best we can, it is expected in the short term (approximately 3 years), to achieve the self-sustainability of the organization, strengthen our membership in quality and not quantity, provide our associates and the public in general a quality service that allows to improve their economic conditions and contribute with a grain of sand in our communities and municipality for the development of our country.
